Man given suspended sentence

A COLERAINE man charged with drugs offences has been given a suspended sentence.

Before Monday’s sitting of North Antrim Magistrates’ Court was Clint Wayne Morrow (31) of Weavers Court.

He was charged with two counts of possession of a class ‘B’ drug and one count of supplying a class ‘B’ drug.

Court heard that on October 9 last year, police carried out a search of the defendant’s home.

Three grammes of herbal cannabis was found along with drugs paraphernalia.

During interview Morrow admitted to police that he had been addicted to cannabis for some 18 years. Morrow admitted he had supplied his friend with a ‘joint’ earlier in the day.

Morrow’s solicitor, Garrett Greene told the court that his client had engaged in a course through probation to help him with his addiction.

District Judge Richard Wilson sentenced Morrow to two months in prison for each of the three charges, the sentence was suspended for two years.
