Man had knife at restaurant drive through

Police arrested a 19 year old man after a knife was reported to have been brandished at a fast food outlet in Riverside Park East just before 3am on Sunday 14 June.

Chief Inspector Catherine Magee said: “Staff reported that a man that walked into the restaurant armed with a knife after he had got out of a vehicle as it passed through the drive through.

2Officers arrived on scene within 3 minutes however the man had already left in a vehicle.

“The vehicle was located by patrols around 15 minutes later and a 19 year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. The blade of a knife was recovered a short time later near to the restaurant.

Chief Inspector Magee continued: “The man was later released on police bail.”
