Phillip Robert George Harrison, Brookefield Avenue, Banbridge, also pleaded guilty to common assault on a female when he appeared last Thursday at the local magistrates’ court, which was sitting in Newry.

But he denied a further charge of having an offensive weapon, namely a knife, on the same date at Golf Terrace, Banbridge.

A solicitor told the court Harrison would be pleading guilty to three of the four charges he faced and not guilty to the remaining charge.

The case was adjourned until October 6 so that a date could be fixed for a contest.

Harrison was released on continuing bail.
