Man hospitalised after RTC

A man has been taken to hospital following a collision in Ballyclare.

The Times understands the incident occurred at approximately 7am on Friday, March 10.

Detailing the rescue, a Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesperson said: “NIFRS responded to a single car RTC at Ballyrobert Road, Ballyclare. Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to release a 30-year-old man from the vehicle. He was conveyed to hospital by ambulance. Fire crew from Ballyclare station attended the incident.”

The Ballyrobert Road was closed in both directions between the Lower Size Hill Road and the Longshot following the incident. The road has since reopened to traffic.
