Man in 70s dies after Co Antrim road collision

A man in his 70s has died after being injured in a four car traffic collision in Co Antrim.

The incident occurred on the Larne Road near Kilroot just after 6.50pm on Sunday, May 29.

Issuing a fresh appeal for information, police said the collision involved a silver Mercedes E250 Sport, a silver Mercedes CLC180 Sport, a white Mini Cooper and a black Volkswagen Golf.

There are no details as yet on exactly when he died.

Constable Peter Grimes said: “I would particularly like to speak to a male who was walking his dog along the Larne Road, Carrickfergus at the time of this incident, as he may have information which would assist with our enquiries.

“I would also appeal to anyone else who may have information about this incident to contact Police at Larne on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1166 of 29/05/16.”
