Man in court over Parkmore killing

A 20-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court, accused of killing Davy Neill (46) in Parkmore last weekend.

Daniel McCartney appeared in Lisburn Magistrates Court on Thursday.

A police detective told the court that during his time in police custody, the defendant had continually denied stabbing Mr Neill.

He also said the accused denied any knowledge of a knife at the scene.

Questioned by the defence, the detective agreed that police had evidence from persons that the accused did not stab the victim but the officer stressed they also had evidence that he did.

McCartney was remanded in custody to appear in court again by videolink on October 12.
