Man lay in road and wouldn’t get up

A disorderly man who lay down on the middle of the road and refused to get up has been fined £100.

Christopher McCloskey, of Newtown Way, Limavady, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour on November 4.

Police were called to The Diamond in the city centre because two men were causing a disturbance outside a bar.

When police arrived both men appeared to have injuries but declined to make a statement.

They then became ‘disruptive’ and McCloskey went to lie on a parked car.

Officers removed him from the car and he lay down on the middle of the road.

The 24-year-old refused to move or respond to police and he was arrested.
