Man lost his temper and kicked and'¨spat at his partner

When he lost his temper with his partner a 34-year-old man kicked her and spat at her, Banbridge Magistrates Court heard last Thursday.

David McIntosh, Ashvale Crescent, Glasgow, admitted common assault and criminal damage to a door on July 11 this year.

The court heard that at approximately 1pm police received a report of a domestic incident and went to the address of the injured party.

She claimed that the defendant, her ex-partner, had started to question her closely and she didn’t like the nature of the questioning.

He punched a glass door and it cost around £100 to repair the damage.

McIntosh again approached her and accused her of telling lies.

He lost his temper, prodded her in the chest and kicked her on the leg causing bruises before spitting at her.

Children were present in the house at the time and the injured party was holding one of them when this was happening.

District Judge, Mr Paul Copeland, asked to see photographs which had been taken of the injuries.

They were not available in court and the judge adjourned the case until September 22 to see the photographs.

He remanded McIntosh on continuing bail.
