Man pleads guilty and not guilty

A 22-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful possession of a class B drug, cannabis, on May 14 this year.

But Colin Brady, Churchview Close, Lawrencetown, pleaded not guilty last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court to breach of a non molestation order - a police officer said Brady could be connected with the charge.

A solicitor representing Brady said he would plead guilty to the drugs matter but denied the breach of the order.

Both cases were adjourned until June 23 so that a date should be set for a contest in the breach allegation.

Brady was remanded on his own bail of £500 with the condition he has no contact with the alleged injured party.
