Man produced insurance documents

A 44-year-old man acquired insurance just a few hours after being stopped by police.

David Lenaghan, Old Fort Lodge, Craigavon, was fined £250 last Friday for no insurance on March 13. He received six points.

He was stopped just after 5am on Portadown Road and asked to produce insurance. On March 19 he produced insurance but it was only valid from five hours after the time he was stopped.

A solicitor said he had been driving for over 20 years and had never been in court. He explained that Mr Lenaghan had purchased a new car at the beginning of the year and contacted his insurance broker to change the policy. The solicitor added he asked his broker to find the best deal and left it in their hands, but should have followed it up.
