Man remanded on burglary charge

A BALLYCLARE man has appeared in court charged with breaking into the home of an elderly woman.

James Hogg (40), from Doagh Road, was remanded in custody at Belfast Magistrates Court on Tuesday (August 7) after being charged with burglary and possession of a Class B drug.

Hogg was charged with entering a residential property at Doagh Road on Monday, August 6 and stealing a handbag containing £100 and other items. He was further charged with possessing cannabis.

He was remanded at Maghaberry Prison by consent and is due to appear in court again via video link on September 4.
