Man remanded on terrorism charge

A LURGAN man appeared in court today (Monday) on a terrorism charge.

Kieran Martin Collins, 35, from Drumbeg, Tullygally, was charged with having a semi-automatic pistol in suspicious circumstances.

He was also charged at Lisburn Magistrates Court with having a car likely to be used in terrorism.

No application for bail was made, and he was remanded in custody to appear in court again next month.

There was a cheer from his supporters in court as he was taken away.

The accused was arrested during a police operation in Lurgan’s Kiln Lane on Thursday night.

Two other men - aged 23 and 28 - have been released pending reports to the Public Prosecution Service.
