Man rescued after falling near Ballintoy

A man has been rescued after falling on the Causeway Coast Way part of the Ulster Way near Ballintoy Harbour on Sunday afternoon.
20 December 2015..A man has been rescued after falling on the Causeway Coast Way part of the Ulster Way near Ballintoy Harbour on Sunday afternoon. The walk is an exhilarating 33-mile route along the most celebrated stretch of coastline in Northern Ireland.Rescue teams from Ballycastle and Coleraine coastguard were scrambled just after lunchtime to a victim of the terrain. It is understood that one male had fallen after the heavy rain had made conditions difficult on the walk. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service dispatched paramedics to the scene as well and they removed the casualty to Causeway Hospital in Coleraine where he is being assessed and it is believed he has a broken ankle.
