Man suffers deep cut after bridge assault

A MAN in his 50s was left with a deep cut to the head after an assault by two males in Londonderry last week.

The man required stitches for the wound following the assault at the Waterside end of the Craigavon Bridge around 2am on Sunday, January 16.

The victim was attacked by two males at the stairwell connecting the top deck to the bottom deck.

Separately, police in Foyle are appealing for information after a man in his 20s was assaulted by three males close to a bus stop on the Racecourse Road at approximately the same time as the Waterside attack in the early hours of January 16.

The victim was treated in hospital for an injury to his right ear and swelling to the back, neck and face.
