Man suffersbroken jaw after attack

A Twinbrook man suffered a broken jaw following an attack in the area recently.

Police investigating the assault in the Juniper area, which took place on Sunday, July 21, are appealing for witnesses.

At approximately 8.40pm a 33-year-old man was walking his dog to the rear of a local chip shop in Jasmine End when he was approached by three males. One of these males punched the victim to the ground knocking him unconscious.

The victim sustained a number of injuries to his head and face including a broken jaw. The victim required hospital treatment for his injuries and had surgery to his jaw.

His assailants are believed to be in their late teens or early twenties. One was wearing blue floral shorts and a white t-shirt and a second had cropped blonde hair and was wearing grey bottoms with no top.

Police are keen to speak to witnesses and would also like to trace a woman who gave assistance to the victim after he regained consciousness. Officers can be contacted on 0845 600 8000.
