Man to stand trial for GBH

A Lisburn man has been sent to trial charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a woman.

Brian Eastham (43), of Glenwood Court, Lisburn is charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, three charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and making threats to kill a woman.

He is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between January 1, 2008 and March 23, 2011. A charged of possessing an offensive weapon was withdrawn.

A member of the prosecution told Lisburn Magistrates’ Court that the defendant had a case to answer. Eastham made no reply to the charges. The case was adjourned to Craigavon Crown Court on January 10, 2017.
