Man tried to smuggle drugs

A man being taken to prison planned to smuggle drugs in by concealing them between his buttocks, the High Court heard.

Rafael Kontras’ bid to take diazepam into Maghaberry was foiled because the tablets were too big. The 25-year-old Armagh man, who faces charges of possessing Class C drugs and breaching a restraining order was refused bail on Wednesday.

He was arrested at his ex-partners in May, the court heard. He will be sentenced later this month.
