Gary Davidson is charged with issuing a threat to kill his girlfriend.

The 23-year-old was arrested after the disturbance was reported on July 7. A lawyer said police arrived at his partner’s Trasna Way home but were told Davidson had left after an argument without committing any offence.

They then went to the defendant’s Union Court address where he was alleged to have made several comments threatening to kill her.

During a bail application Fiona O’Kane, prosecuting, said the alleged threats were being treated as credible.

She added: “He indicated at interview that he wanted (his partner) to die a slow, natural death.”

Mr Justice O’Hara said there were no circumstances where such a threat is appropriate or acceptable.

But the judge granted bail after acknowledging Davidson may have been emotionally upset due to a past family tragedy.
