Man was aggressive with police officers, court told

A 25-year-old man who was aggressive with police calmed down later on and apologised to officers, Banbridge Magistrates Court heard last Thursday.

Grant John Forsythe, of Dromore Road, Donaghcloney, admitted indecent behaviour, disorderly behaviour and resisting a constable at Bridge Street, Banbridge, on November 22.

The court heard that at 2.15am the defendant was seen at the rear of the Imperial Inn and turned away from police.

He was asked to return to the police vehicle but pulled away, clenched his fists and came out with expletives.

Forsythe showed aggressive behaviour and had to be taken to the ground.

He later calmed down and apologised to officers, the court was told.

A solicitor representing the defendant said there was nothing relevant on his record and Forsythe was normally a mild-mannered man.

He was bound over to keep the peace in the sum of £250 for 12 months.
