The court heard that police received a report suggesting someone may have been driving without having insurance in Donaghcloney.

They found the car parked on Main Street and Treanor admitted he was driving and had no insurance. He did not have the consent of the owner and he was taking the vehicle to be scrapped.

Mr Conor Downey, representing Treanor, said the owner of the vehicle was planning to scrap the car. He explained that a relative of the owner took it upon herself to ask Treanor to take it to have the car scrapped. That has been done.
