The court heard that shortly before tea-time police received a 999 call from the defendant’s partner.

She said O’Hanlon had arrived home intoxicated and was causing a nuisance.

She would not let him in because of his high level of intoxication.

He began banging on the back door.

He was shouting and swearing and a large number of residents were watching the entertainment. O’Hanlon would not leave and was arrested.

Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said O’Hanlon had taken an extreme amount of alcohol and made a complete nuisance of himself.

He added that the defendant was taken to the police station where he was able to sleep off the alcohol.
