Marathon effort for charity

CHILDREN in Crossfire are recruiting 20 enthusiastic individuals to join them for the 25th Budapest Half Marathon on Sunday, September 5.

Following the amazing success of our previous trips to Barcelona, Children in Crossfire have organised this fantastic package to one of Europe’s most striking and diverse cities.

Sarah Gallagher, events fundraising co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted to be offering this new running trip to the people of the North West. Budapest is a fantastic city with an amazing carnival atmosphere and the course leads you through some of the most beautiful parts of the Hungarian capital, giving runners the opportunity to see the beautiful architecture and admire the breath taking sites from the famous chain bridge above the River Danube.

“Running a half marathon can be an incredible challenge for anyone to undertake and the sense of achievement that you feel when you cross the finishing line is indescribable, but an added incentive is that the money you are raising will help some of the poorest children in the world and help improve their lives immensely. I would encourage anyone to sign up for this challenge and join us.”

To reserve a place, please send 150 deposit to the Children in Crossfire office, we are asking participants to raise a minimum sponsorship and this will cover flights, transfers, 3 nights’ accommodation and guaranteed race entry. Places are available for individuals who wish to run the entire route however you can also enter as a two member relay team with each individual running 13km and 8km respectively.
