Drew, pastor at Victoria Evangelical Hall will be walking nine miles of the 26-mile route with Sunday School superintendent Hollie McCrudden .

This will be Drew’s third trip to Bogota. He will be working with Mission Possible, an independent Christian charity.

Its aim is to support street children in the Colombian capital.

This year, Drew will be working in a centre in the Juan Rey district which feeds 300 children daily.

The suburb has a population of more than 800,000 people.

Victoria Evangelical Hall and its children’s work have been supporting the supply of daily meals, the provision of medical treatment, psychological care and the support of Hope House for abandoned children in Juan Rey.

Speaking on his return from a previous trip, Drew told the Times of the “harrowing neglect and abuse” suffered by many children in one of the poorest parts of Colombia where many young girls support their families by turning to prostitution.

“It was worthwhile, helpful and also very emotional to see just how needy these children are and the condition in which they live.”

Sponsorship forms are available and donations can be made at Victoria Evangelical Hall or by ringing Hollie on 07387 073263 or Drew 07984 826267.
