Marconi Group’s Festival of Transport for MD charity

Ballycastle will be the venue this weekend for two new events that have been organised by the Marconi Radio Group as part of a Festival of Transport to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy.

This Saturday 16th August will see the Vintage Day and Tractor run take place at Ballycastle Quay Road sports complex.

Registration will take place from 11am onwards and everyone is welcome to bring their car,tractor, motorcycle along and take part.

The Tractor and vintage car run will be leaving at 2pm to travel around Ballycastle, before making its way to Watertop open Farm.

The route is Quay Road, Ann Street, Market Street, Ramoan Road,Church Road, Coleraine Road, Castle Street, Diamond, Ann Street, Quay Road, North Street, Bayview Road, Harbour, Bayview Road, North Street, Mary Street, Cushendall Road ending at Watertop farm. At this point the tractor and Vintage car drivers will have a meal before completing the trek across country.

The day will include Home baking Display, Static Engines, Vintage Tractor display, Food, Vintage Cars,Vintage Motorcycles, Trade Stands, Horses, Car Boot Sale, Family Entertainment, Live Amateur Radio, and a flying display by North Antrim Model Aircraft Club and a display of old Military Vehicles.

Sunday 17th August will see the North Coast Show and Shine take place at the same venue with Registration at 10am show at 12 noon and prizes at 4pm, there will be prizes for the best Modifed, best classic and best sound system, entry fee is £10 with proceeds going to Muscular Dystrophy.
