Margey exhibition places focus on north west

KILREA artist, Adrian Margey will exhibit his work at the Radisson Hotel in Limavady over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The exhibition is the latest in a series of shows that the artist has planned this year, as part of a project supported by the Creative Industries Innovation Fund, administered by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

The Limavady exhibition places a strong focus on the landscape and people of the North West.

Scenes from around Magilligan and the Roe Valley, together with striking representations of the Maiden City and Inishowen Peninsula, make this an exhibition of contrasts.

Visitors will delight at Margey’s distinctive portrayals of local beauty spots such as the Dog Leap Bridge, Mussenden Temple at Downhill and Dungiven Castle.

Historic Saint Aidan’s Priory, Martello Tower, Bovevagh, Benone Strand and Benevenagh have all been captured on canvas especially for this exhibition.

Margey said: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s exhibition at the Radisson.

“ I’m pleased with my new North West collection and think visitors will enjoy the diversity of work on show. I see the support from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland as a welcome endorsement of the work that I do.”

Suzanne Lyle, Arts Council Head of Visual Arts added: “In just five years, Adrian has made a growing impact on the local arts scene with a portfolio of work which appeals to both traditional and contemporary art collectors.

“With support from the Creative Industries Innovation Fund, arts enthusiasts across Northern Ireland will now have the opportunity to view Adrian’s work first hand.”

The exhibition opens at the Radisson Roe Park Resort Limavady on Friday, August 27, from 6pm to 9.30pm and continues on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August from 11am to 8.30pm and Monday 30th from 11am to 7pm.
