Marks and Spencers staff put their best foot forward for charity

M&S Lisburn employees at Sprucefield are putting their best feet forward in support of M&S Northern Ireland’s charity fundraising campaign, with the aim of raising £100,000 for Action Cancer’s counselling and therapeutic services.

Lisburn employees, their family and friends, are taking part in many novel fundraising events including a 20 mile cycle challenge from the M&S Newtownbreda store at Forestside Shopping Centre to the M&S Lisburn store at Sprucefield and back, as well as a six mile sponsored walk to Belvoir Park and a charity cycle in the mall. Customers too can get involved in the many fundraising activities being organised in support of the campaign, including in-store sponsored cyclothons, exercise classes and bag packing.

Speaking about the challenge, Ryan Lemon, Head of Region for M&S in Northern Ireland said: “I’m delighted to be joining so many employees in getting involved in this summer’s charity challenge.

“Whether it’s planning fundraising in-store, or sponsoring participants, there is a chance for everyone to be involved.”

Dougie King, Head of Fundraising and Communication at Action Cancer added: “The increasing number of people receiving a cancer diagnosis in Northern Ireland means that Action Cancer continues to expand its counselling and therapeutic support services, so that families can have timely and appropriate support.

“We are therefore very appreciative and delighted that M&S Lisburn staff are ensuring that these essential services are made available to existing and new clients in the months to come.”
