Martin & Hamilton awarded RICS Prize

Ballymena-based chartered construction company Martin & Hamilton has won a presitigious RICS award.

The company recently won the Tourism & Leisure category at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Northern Ireland awards event for its work on the recent expansion project at Galgorm Resort & Spa.

Martin & Hamilton was the main-contractor for the 18-month project, which involved the construction of a four storey extension to the hotel including 45 deluxe guest rooms, three luxurious suites, a new indoor swimming pool, associated spa facilities, and an outdoor thermal spa village.

The judges praised the construction methodology and sustainability features of the building.

Commenting on the project, David Hamilton, Managing Director of Martin & Hamilton said: “We are delighted to have won this award. Along with some key subcontractors, we have a dedicated team who deserve credit for their work on the project. We prioritised the use of local supply chain members and craftsmen with traditional building skills. The standard of finish is particularly high and clear for all to see. We wish the hotel every success for the future”.
