Masked assailants attack man with bat and bar in Larne

It is believed the aggravated burglary took place between the late hours of Sunday, August 14 and the early hours of Monday, August 15, at a property at Greenland Parade.

The victim sustained minor injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. The front windows of the property were also smashed.

Detective Sergeant Crothers said: “It was reported that several masked men, armed with a bat and bar entered the property and assaulted a male inside. The males then left the property.

“I would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Greenland Parade area in the recent days or anyone who has any information about the incident to contact detectives in Larne on 101, quoting reference 587 on 15/08/16 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
