Maureen loved her home and family

THE passing of Mrs Maureen Crawford took place at Lurgan Hospital on Friday 23rd March.

She was the dearly loved wife of the late John Robert Crawford 38 Queen Street, Lurgan.

Maureen who was formerly Maureen Russell from Dromore Street, Banbridge had been living in Lurgan some 61 years but always enjoyed her native Banbridge town and always kept returning to it.

Brought up in Banbridge she was married to a soldier who was stationed in Banbridge and was killed in action in the 2nd World War.

After a time she met John Crawford at a dance in Banbridge Orange Hall and after this they were married in Banbridge and lived here for a while before moving to Lurgan.

They were blessed with a boy and a girl David and Linda who passed away at the early age of 34. But in her latter years was tenderly cared for by her son David.

While in Banbridge she worked in a Textile Industry but her main interest was around her home and family and it is there that her passing will be mostly felt.

Her son David would like to thank the staff of Lurgan Hospital, the Rev. M. Greenstreet and Captain G. Walmsley for the medical attention and visitations shown to her while in hospital.

She is survived by her son David and grandson David (Dee) and 1 sister Mrs Jessie McCracken.

To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place following a service in Holy Trinity Parish Church. The hymns ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd’ and ‘Abide with Me’ were sung.

Mr Roly Anketel presided at the organ. The interment took place in the New Cemetery.

Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Chest, Heart and Stroke Association.

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
