May the force be with you!

ALL roads lead to Carrick this weekend as Quay Vipers Motorcycle Club gears up for its 10th anniversary ride out.

Around 1,300 people took part in last year’s event and the organisers are expecting another bumper turn-out to help mark this special milestone.

Motorists are advised of possible delays around the harbour area with the ride out due to commence at 1.00pm and take riders along the A2 coast road to the midway point at Glenariff Forest before returning via a route around Broughshane to Carrickfergus Rugby Club.

Inspector Tommy Mahood, of Carrick PSNI, pointed out that traffic signs will be in place and urged motorists to observe them.

Bikes of all shapes and sizes have featured previously and the event will be graced this year with the presence of the one and only May McFettridge plus Star Wars characters from the Emerald Garrison.

Once again, George Jones from U105 will be the genial host for the occasion and local racing legend Phillip McCallen is also expected to drop in.

Participants are asked to make a minimum donation of £5 for the ride-out in aid of the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice and there will be a free ballot and refreshments.
