Mayfield Link road to be adopted
THE Department for Regional Development could be in a position to adopt the N21 Mayfield Link road in Mallusk within a matter of weeks, it has been confirmed.
Alliance MLA David Ford and Newtownabbey councillors Lynn Frazer and John Blair met with Environment Minister Alex Attwood and Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy on Monday (February 27) to discuss the adoption of roads and the water supply in the Aylesbury and Alderley housing developments.
Following the meeting, alderman Blair and councillor Frazer said they were hopeful that the long-awaited adoption of the road, which stalled over ongoing issues between the developer and Roads Service, will take place in the near future, possibly within the next few weeks.
A DRD spokesperson said that “Roads Service plan to adopt the road by the end of March.”
