The dancers impressed the judges with their modern twist on Irish dancing, replacing traditional music with popular chart hits and incorporating some modern moves.

It was revealed on Sunday night’s BGT that the fifteen strong troupe had been selected as one of the top forty five acts to make it through to the semi-finals in London, shown live on ITV on Thursday evening.

Mayor of Coleraine Councillor David Harding who had met with the ladies in Portstewart on the North Coast last week stated, “This was an amazing opportunity for ‘Innova’ and wile I am disappointed for the girls after getting so close to the final I’d also like to congratulate them on their huge achievement.

“It was a tremendous coup for the Borough to have someone represent the North Coast and Northern Ireland on the show and we are very proud of the girls. Innova gave a sensational performance and were very worthy semi-finalists. It was great to see everyone support them on their journey through the competition.

“Whilst it would be have been fantastic to see them go through to the final stage of the competition the ladies have a lot of support and a strong fan base locally with everyone hoping they will build on their success, as there may be an opportunity of a campaign coming up to get them back onto the show as the ‘wild card’, so watch this space!”.
