Mayor launches Hospice coffee morning

Ballymoney Mayor, Councillor Ian Stevenson, joined Ballymoney Hospice Support Group and the Regional Fundraiser, in Riada House last week, to launch a charity coffee morning to raise funds for Northern Ireland Hospice. The coffee morning will be held in Riada House on Friday 18th May from 10.30 till 12 noon.

Cllr. Stevenson said: “The Ballymoney Hospice Support Group, is a very active group and I am pleased to be able to lend my support to this event to raise funds for the Northern Ireland Hospice.

“I commend the excellent work of Hospice which cares for the entire family, not just the person who is sick. The North West Hospice Team which covers the Ballymoney area provides much needed support to many in our community. We are indeed fortunate to have this support for both carers and patients within our local community”

Concluding, the Mayor commented: “I invite my fellow citizens to come along to Riada House on 18th May and support this very worthwhile charity”.

Northern Ireland Hospice is a local charity caring adults, children and young people with life-limiting and life threatening conditions, both in hospice and in the community. The organisation also supports their families and carers.

Although Hospice receives some funding from government, it relies heavily on voluntary donations and legacies to fund its much needed services.
