Mayor to attend RAMS Open Day at fire station

There will be a number of events for all the family including dog handling, bouncy castle, burgers and chips, model aeroplane and helicoper displays as well as a number of chip pan demonstrations and fire safety displays.

Chief Fire Officer Dale Ashford will also be making an appearance during the day.

The charity is trying to raise much needed money and need all the support it can get from the community.

Admission free. All proceeds will go to RAMS which is based in Derriaghy.

The charity was set up in 1985 to treat people with Multiple Sclerosis and has since extended its facilities to sufferers of strokes, neurological conditions, cerebral palsy, arthritis, fibromyalgia, ME and even sports injuries.

The premises which is based in Dunmurry Industrial Estate was gutted by flooding in 2012 and closed for some month.

Billy Jo Beck, manager of the charity is encouraging as many as people as possible to come along.

“This is a great annual event for all the family,” he said. “There will be something for everyone.”
