McCartney condemns racist attackers who are not '˜reflective' of friendly city

Two men were left badly shaken after being racially abused and assaulted by a gang of up to twenty teenagers as they walked through Londonderry city centre on Tuesday night, July 5.

The Foyle MLA said: “Reports of a racially motivated attack in Derry city centre are very concerning.

“There can be no place for racism, sexism, sectarianism, homophobia or any form of discrimination in our society.

“Derry is known across the world for its friendly welcome for everyone and this is not reflective of the city.

“I would call on anyone with information on this incident to bring it forward to the PSNI.”
