McClarty congratulates local pupils on exam success

EAST Londonderry MLA David McClarty has sent his best wishes to all those students who have received their A level and GCSE results.

The Ulster Unionist representative said: “I would like to send my best wishes to all those who have just received their A level and GCSE results.

“Once again local students, assisted by dedicated teaching staff, have turned in a set of tremendous results which bear testimony to a great deal of hard work and dedication which was put in over past years leading up to these results.

“Whilst there will be many pupils and students who will have achieved the results which they wanted, I am also aware that others will be disappointed at their results.

It is very important that they realise this is not the end of the world, and that they still have many options open to them, including further and/or higher education, a gap year, an apprenticeship, employment and of course the opportunities which exist in the modern era of life long learning.

“Whatever situation people find themselves in, it is important that they take time to evaluate and consider all options open to them. In this respect the Careers Service plays a vital role and can be contacted via http://www.careersserviceni.com/Cultures/en-GB/CareerService/ or by telephoning 028 9044 1781.”
