McClure appeals to local dog owners

COLERAINE alderman James McClure is urging pet owners to make more effort to ensure their animals to not foul walkways and the property of neighbours.

The DUP representative says he has received several complaints from residents in the Castlerock Road area of Coleraine about the increase in dog fouling on pavements.

He said: “This is an issue which seems to have become decidedly worse over the past year, according to people who live in the area.

Dog owners must make the effort to ensure their pets do not foul the footpaths or that they clean up after them if they do. Several residents are angry that their gardens are being regularly being fouled by other peoples animals.

“I will be asking the Council dog warden to look into the situation,” added alderman McClure.
