The DUP Councillor who is also currently Deputy Mayor for the Causeway Borough Council said he was confident that Limavady residents would welcome the scheme that will see a new roundabout and road improvements installed at the junction of Greystone Road and Broad Road by the spring of 2017.

He said that many people had been calling for improvements at the junction over a period of time and noted that it was a particularly dangerous stretch of road.

“When I was elected to Limavady Borough Council, I became aware that my Party colleague Alderman Alan Robinson had been campaigning on behalf of constituents for improvements. I know he continued to canvass support with the relevant Departments and Ministers since then and I am delighted that his determination and efforts have now been rewarded.

“Many will claim they have worked hard to bring about this scheme but only my Party colleague Alan has the hard evidence that it is he who has done the heavy lifting on this.”

Cllr McCorkell said people often question what their local elected representatives do but pointed to this scheme as evidence that Limavady has a strong DUP team working for them all the time. He said there was a clear determination that he and his fellow Councillors would continue to work together to help all the people of Limavady.
