McCrum pays tribute to "a very close friend"

DUP councillor Junior McCrum paid tribute to recently deceased Banbridge councillor Wilfred McFadden.

He said, “Wilfie was a great man in his own right and a very close friend.

“I brought Wilfie home every night from the council since I was first elected. He had some great wit and wisdom to share.

“I remember canvassing with him in Loughbrickland Primary School in the caravan when I was only a wee lad. I have known him all my life.

“He has to be commended for his long service to this area. He worked to the best of his abilities for both sides of the community.

“My sympathies go to his Wilfie’s widow and family. It is a great loss for them for Wilfie was very fond of having his family around him and they always were.

“My thoughts and prayers are with them now and in the days ahead.”
