Or so it seems after Franchisee John McCollum and his crew were awarded platinum status for the restaurant’s toilet facilities in the Loo of the Year Awards 2016.

In the complicated business of toilet-judging, over 100 criteria were considered, including signage and décor, fixtures and fittings and overall standards of cleanliness and management.

And the local business made quite a splash in the Awards that have been identifying the best toilets across the UK since 1987.

John McCollum said, “McDonald’s is a modern and progressive company and we pride ourselves on providing our customers with a quality meal and excellent service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“Staff at McDonald’s Sprucefield work exceptionally hard to ensure our customers enjoy a high quality service throughout their visit and this includes access to hygienic and safe washroom facilities. We are delighted to have received this prestigious award and believe that clean toilet facilities are essential, something that our customers look for at every visit.”
