McKillop looks forward to Salmon & Whiskey Festival in Bushmills this weekend

TUV councillor Sharon McKillop has said she is looking forward to an exciting programme of events this weekend as Bushmills hosts the Salmon and Whiskey Festival.

Councillor McKillop, who is part of the Festival Committee, said: “I expect this year’s event to build on the success of last year when thousands of people came to Bushmills, providing an economic boast to the village at a time when it was much needed.

“Considerable effort has gone in to planning a range of events which will cater for a variety of tastes. Things kick off on Friday afternoon with a special exhibition on the life of Robert Quigg VC who was decorated for his services at the Battle of the Somme.

“Events will continue throughout the weekend with a vintage tractor and band procession, jazz, Ulster-Scots and contemporary music, historical talks and exhibitions, fairground amusements, food, crafts, children’s story telling and a spectacular fireworks display.

“I would encourage everyone to come along this weekend and enjoy what promises to be an exciting festival with something for all ages and tastes.”
