McKinney Primary has ‘Big Birthday Bash’

There were celebrations at McKinney Primary School at Dundrod recently as the local school marked its twentieth birthday.

The original Dundrod school was established in 1847 and was rebuilt in 1994, when it was renamed McKinney.

On Wednesday September 10 the celebrations began with the ‘Big Birthday Bash’ organised by the very active Friends of McKinney Group.

Families and friends enjoyed a fantastic evening of fun and games.

Activities included bouncy castles, archery, a climbing wall, face painting, a barbecue and a variety of stalls, as well as a beautiful birthday cake baked by a past pupil.

McKinney Primary is a growing school, with just under 160 pupils currently enrolled.

There has recently been a large extension built on to the Assembly Hall to facilitate this growth.

This was completed ready for the start of September and the children and staff are looking forward to using the fantastic new hall.
