Speaking after a meeting with fishermen and boat-owners, he commented: “Larne Council, the previous owners of the harbour, carried out some works on a section of the harbour wall but as the boat-owners pointed out to me the rest of the internal walls of the harbour do need attention.

“After been taken around the harbour by boat it was very clear that the walls do need work carried out.

“Myself and councillor James McKeown have asked for a meeting with council officials where we will be asking for a survey to be carried out to quantify the works that will be necessary to protect the safety of fishermen and boat-owners presently using the harbour facilities.”
