McQuillan: ‘Landmark day for Portrush’
DUP MLA Adrian McQuillan has described the news that Royal Portrush will host the Open in 2019 as a ‘landmark day for Portrush’
Speaking after the announcment, McQuillan said that the news is a ‘great boost for the area, and Northern Ireland’.
“This news is a great boost for the area.
“Royal Portrush and indeed the area, proved that they can host an event in the very successful Irish Open a few years back, so for now the count down begins.
“The work has already started on the course, and I am thrilled that for all involved.
“I have no doubt that the tournament will showcase our wonderful area to all parts of the world.”
