Meadow Bridge raise funds

It's not often that you hear the words 'shave it off!' being chanted during an assembly in a primary school.

The pupils from Meadow Bridge Primary School got such a chance on Friday 15th April.

The school celebrated their fund-raising achievements for Sport Relief 2016 after raising £479.

It was agreed that if the school raised over £50, then Mr. McCollum would shave off his beard in front of the school assembly.

Aided by some suggestions from the P7s, Mr. McCollum was encouraged to do something a little extra and so not only did the beard go, but his hair was shaved off as well.

All the pupils and staff put in an ‘extraordinary effort’ to help raise money for Sport Relief this year.

The P7 children co-ordinated a Tray-bake sale during the week while the School Council organised a ‘Sport Relief Mile’ for the children.
