According to the City & Guilds judging panel: “Ann has shown dedication in her coursework and has achieved great results. She is a deserving recipient of the Medal and we are pleased to have this opportunity to acknowledge her success.”

A thrilled Ann said: “I feel very privileged and humble to receive such a prestigious award, knowing what this stands for and the many deserving candidates there are. Winning the award has given me the encouragement I needed to continue improving myself. I found it a challenge, as I had not studied for a number of years. I hope to continue improving the skills I have obtained to date.”

Theresa Thomas, NVQ coordinator for the Western Trust said: “This is an excellent achievement for Ann. She proved to have excellent drive and commitment throughout her qualification with the support of her NVQ assessor Mrs Betty Dolan and her work Manager Sr Margaret Canavan. This is another great achievement for the NVQ Centre as it is the third medal of excellence achieved by one of our candidates.”

In addition to her City and Guilds Award Ann also received the Tallow Chandlers Certificate for outstanding achievement in her Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care.
