Medicare goes pink for UCF at Ahoghill store

AHOGHILL MEDICARE joined with thousands of people across Northern Ireland participating in the Ulster Cancer Foundation's (UCF) Pink Link at MediCare Pharmacy Group to raise funds to support local women with breast cancer.

MediCare Pharmacy Group linked up with UCF to encourage people to Think Pink! throughout October, breast cancer awareness month, with stores across Northern Ireland holding a variety of fundraising events to raise vital funds to help local women with breast cancer.

Many MediCare stores marked breast cancer awareness month by holding the Pink Link where supporters were encouraged to make a donation to UCF’s breast cancer awareness campaign and sign the pink ribbon of hope. Some people even wrote a short dedication in memory of a loved one or in support of a family member or friend currently undergoing treatment.

Joyce Savage, Head of Appeals & Marketing, UCF said: “Pink Link was a great way for communities to get involved in our Think Pink! breast cancer awareness campaign. We are delighted that MediCare supported us again this year and the money raised will be spent to develop our Bra and Swimwear Fitting Service which is provided on an individual basis for women who have had breast cancer surgery.
