'˜Meet the Makers' at Supervalu

McCOOL'S SuperValu, Ballymoney hosted the first '˜Meet the Makers' event in-store for customers with over 70 local suppliers sampling their produce.

Customers attended the family fun day, which celebrated local producers and demonstrated SuperValu’s commitment to supporting Northern Ireland’s Year of Food and Drink. SuperValu’s new Ambassador Chef, Noel McMeel, was on hand to offer some culinary inspiration with cooking demonstrations throughout the day.

Local suppliers including Broighter Gold, Chocolate Manor, Donnybrewer Butter, Ruby Blue Vodka and Mash Direct brought their ranges of products to the store, allowing customers to sample the goods. The younger customers were able to make the most of the free face painting and balloon modelling.

SuperValu Ballymoney, owner Peter McCool said: “Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. We were delighted to have so many local suppliers at the store to showcase their produce to our customers and staff. 2016 is Northern Ireland’s Year of Food and Drink and this event highlighted to our customers the strong link we have in supporting local suppliers and businesses and it created a great buzz, not only in-store but throughout the local area.”

‘Meet the Makers’ is rolling out across all 35 local SuperValu stores in Northern Ireland and is part of the retail brand’s ‘We Believe in Local’ campaign.
