Meeting called over Ahoghill house plan

AN office meeting has been called for by Cllr Roy Gillespie over the decision by planners to refuse a proposal for a new two storey dwelling in Ahoghill.

The Councillor made the call at last Thursday night’s Public Sector Liaison Committee meeting of Council after a senior planning officer revealed a decision to turn down the application by Mr F McDowell.

Centering on a site adjacent to 22 The Croft, the application involved the demolition of an existing attached garage and provision of a new two-storey house with an attached single storey annex.

The application, which attracted one letter of objection, was scheduled for refusal by planners who considered it to be contrary to Planning Policy on ‘Quality Residential Environments’.
