WAVE is a cross-denominational group involving a number of the local churches.

“We believe that God values each and every one of us - We Are all Valued Equally. The ethos is to cater for people of all ages with special needs/disabilities, bringing the gospel message through arts and crafts, drama and storytelling,” explained WAVE chairman Torrens Boyd.

“There is a good blend of experience and youth including teachers among the leaders, who are trained in makaton. Parents and carers also have the opportunity to chat and mingle over a cup of tea. It is all pretty relaxed, with an emphasis on fun ways to communicate with God.”

WAVE meetings are held in Ballyclare Presbyterian Church, Doagh Road on the last Sunday of each month between 3pm and 4pm.

Anyone who would like to get involved, or who would like more information about WAVE, should get in touch with Torrens Boyd. Email [email protected] or contact him through the St John’s Church of Ireland office on 028 9335 4814.
